TAKE A LOOK AT THE SKELETAL OUTLINE OF
YOUR GARDEN IN THE SNOW
TO SEE WHERE CHILSTONE GARDEN STATUARY
OR ORNAMENTS ARE NEEDED
Like many others I took plenty of snowy photographs! Snow creates a blanket over the garden that allows the hard structures such as Garden Statuary to show through. These create shadows, shapes and points of interest. While the trees and shrubs are also skeletal it is a good time to look at your garden in a totally different way, looking at the structure – or lack of structure – and see where you may want to place Chilstone Garden Statuary such as urns, statues, fountains or planters.

This photo shows my raised beds, with Chilstone urns and fountain with pots of tulips sitting on the fountain surround. There are probably too many differing heights and too many combinations of structures, but it is interesting all year round, and once the tulips are up those pots will be placed in the fibreglass planters.
The decoration on Chilstone’s Middleton Urn with its swags of hops and vines, and lions masks, shows up beautifully in the snow. The shadows and little snow drifts pick out this detail. https://simonstownarchitectural.ie/portfolio/urns-planters/
A great piece of garden statuary is Chilstone’s French gentleman. Here he is set amongst beech trees. Cast in a deep terracotta colour he makes a change to the standard Chilstone colour. https://www.chilstone.com/garden-ornaments-statues-and-sculptures/french-figure
A large urn or statue will have much more of an impact and will make more impression on the garden and the overall design of the garden. It is all too easy to go for a smaller piece of Garden Statuary because it is cheaper and then find it looks inconsequential in its surrounds.
Small pots look better in multiple groupings of different sizes, with different plants or colours of bulbs growing in them but try to keep to the same design or material in the grouping so there is continuity. https://simonstownarchitectural.ie/pots-and-planters/
